UA Village (UAV) is a project of the Upper Arlington Commission on Aging. Serving the older residents of Upper Arlington, Ohio, UAV is an innovative and inclusive approach to staying and thriving in the neighborhoods we love. A hybrid membership/volunteer program, participants build connections with their neighbors through social and community events and activities. Members receive support through a combination of volunteer assistance inside and outside of the home as well as access to member recommended providers.
The Village Model: UA Village is part of local and national national networks of Villages. The Village Movement originated in Boston with Beacon Hill Village, leading the way for a more economically efficient model for aging. There are now more than 200 actively operating in the U.S. – including six others right here in Central Ohio!
